DDC Doda takes stock of essential commodities

DODA, Feb 3: In view of heavy rains and snowfall in different areas of the district, District Development Commissioner (DDC), Doda Bhupinder Kumar convened a meeting of the district officers and reviewed the position of supplies and essential commodities in the district.
While reviewing the preparedness of the administration, DDC directed the concerned departments to activate their men and machinery and ensure availability of essential services, food grains, power supply, water supply, health care services to the people. Besides, XEn PMGSY and XEn PWD(R&B) have also been directed to ensure clearance of all the roads connecting headquarters. Assistant Director CAPD was impressed upon to ensure availability of sufficient stocks of food grains and kerosene oil in PDS stores in the district.
In view of heavy snowfall in the district, DDC has advised the people not to venture in avalanche prone areas during the snowfall besides keep cleaning the snow deposition from the roof tops of their houses and bunkers to avoid any untoward incident. He has also advised people to temporary evacuate those locations which are under line of avalanche. The concerned officers in the control rooms were asked to remain vigilant and ensure prompt response in case assistance is sought.
Later, District Development Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar along with Superintendent of Police Doda Z N Manhas held an interaction with the media persons.
During the interactive session media persons raised several issues of public importance to which DDC after giving a patient hearing assured that all the issues raised by them will be looked into.
Superintendent of Police while speaking on the occasion said that media acts as a bridge between civil society and administration.
