JAMMU, Feb 3: Asserting that National Conference (NC) will bounce back with its full strength, party general secretary, Ali Mohammad Sagar today said the forward looking policies and programmes of the party besides massive cadre-base spread across the State stand guarantee for it.
“Meeting challenges is not new for NC; more the challenges and more resolute we remain in overcoming these”, Sagar said while addressing the party functionaries of Reasi district.
Provincial president, Devender Singh Rana was among the senior leaders present in the meeting, held to review poll performance in the Assembly elections.
He said the party has surmounted numerous challenges ever-since its inception and history stands testimony to the fact how Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad braved the odds during most testing times and infused new vigour in the cadre. “This spirit has to be emulated for restoring pristine glory of NC and its premier character in the State politics”, he added.
The general secretary recalled the skepticism of the party adversaries, who had raised a question mark over the longevity of Omar Abdullah led Government in 2009 but the stewardship given by the young leader steered J&K to a new era of progress, development and peace.
While sharing his assessment of electoral performance and the response of cadre post-elections, the provincial president said that functionaries and workers at the grass roots level had taken the results to their stride with a resolve to galvanize around the leadership to meet the challenges.
“The party rank and file is gearing up to bounce back in a befitting manner”, Rana said, adding that the public outreach has been enhanced in the recent days in a big way.
The party functionaries from Reasi shared their assessment with the leadership and assured that they will not be seen wanting in reactivating Sher-e-Kashmir’s great movement at the grass roots level.
