SRINAGAR, Feb 3: The Jammu & Kashmir Students Welfare Society Anantnag is conducting a four days training workshops entitled `Innovative activities with no cost low cost materials for class room teaching’ catalyzed & supported by NCSTC (Deptt. of Science & Technology) New Delhi for students and teachers at College of Education Jammu.
During the training, some 100 teachers and students from different educational institutions are participating in the workshop.
On the second day, Ram Avtar Choudhary and Dharandhati Sharma from Rajasthan Vigyan Society Jaipur acted as Resource Persons. They demonstrated various class room teaching activities and developed teaching aids with low cost concept.
The resource persons highlighted the need of these techniques as the present method of teaching in schools is in general and teaches how to answer questions and to memorize them for the examinations.
During the second session, Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria, Director Communication County,  emphasized that EQ matters more than Emotional Intelligence now a days when there is lots of competition & people from different walks of life gather to learn under one roof. He emphasized that teacher should not only transfer knowledge but also impact a student’s life for betterment. He also brought important issue into notice that since 1930 India never got any Nobel Prize in Science.
Shabir Ahmad Shabir, Secretary Jammu & Kashmir Students Welfare Society Anantnag said that the Society will conduct more programs for teachers on the subject.
