SRINAGAR, Feb 4: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry delegation held an interactive meeting with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal, District Development Commissioner-Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone and Farooq Ahmad Shah Director Tourism/ MD JKTDC today on various issues.
KCCI Senior Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani said various issues were raised with the authorities regarding widening of roads and beautification of tourist places to explore new destinations of tourist interest like Dodh Pathri, Sonamarg, Tosa Maidan etc Jamia Masjid, S R Gunj in Shahri Khaas.
Wani said Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, President, KCC&I, explained in detail other issues regarding upliftment of Srinagar city.
He also thanked the Divisional Commissioner and outgoing District Development Commissioner for their role during floods and requested new District Development Commissioner to ensure speedy relief to the recent flood victims.
During interaction various issues related to Tourism Industry were discussed. While hailing Farooq Ahmad Shah for his contribution to the tourism industry and wished that the tourism policy should be framed in consultation with the stake holders.
President, KCC&I assured the stake holders that chamber is pursuing the matter of industrial status to the Tourism and Handicraft industry with higher officials of Industries & Commerce. Expressing hope that the both sectors should fall under MSME Sector in the Industrial Policy which is going to be effected from April this year.
