RAJOURI, Feb 5: People from Jawahar Nagar area of the town, today held protest demonstration against PHE authorities for water scarcity and blocked road for about an hour this afternoon.
The people of the locality including women and children came out on the road at Jawahar Nagar on Rajouri-Kalakote road and held demonstration. They were shouting slogans against the local PHE authorities for alleged shortage of water in the area.
The people raised barricades on the road and sad on dharna. The movement of the vehicular traffic was disrupted on the road for more than an hour. Later, SHO and Tehsildar Rajouri along with some force reached the spot and assured the people to take up the issue with the concerned PHE authorities. On their assurance, the agitating people lifted dharna.
