JAMMU, Feb 6: A protest demonstration was held after Friday prayers outside the premises of Markazi Jamia Talab Khatikan against Jammu Municipal Corporation and District Administration, today.
The protest was held under the banner of MDF(J&K) wherein large gathering after Friday congregation expressed their resentment for delaying unnecessary the widening of road and unhygienic conditions of Jamia Masjid area.
The Auqaf Department was also condemned for its failure to remove encroachment around the said Markazi Jamia Masjid.
In a press release issued, Syed Shabir Ahmed Shah, president, MDF(J&K) while highlighting the problems related to the development construction of Markazi Jamia Masjid said that no progress was made for widening of road from Rajinder Bazar to Jamia Masjid area as the demand has been made for the last three years.
The unhygienic conditions of traffic jam due to encroachment has become the salient feature of the area. The encroachment around the said Jamia Masjid on Wakaf land has also not been removed by Auqaf Department.
