MDP on HR Management begins at SMVDU

JAMMU Feb 7: Two day Management Development Program (MDP) on ‘Human Resource Management for Excellence in Business’ was inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University today. Organized by Faculty of Management, SMVDU, the program aims at equipping the participants with necessary HR skills, perspectives and strategies to enable them to build sustainable competitive advantage in industry.
The program witnessed participation from various industrial organizations like Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd, United Phosphorus Ltd, Coromandel International Ltd., Saraswati Agro Chemicals (I) Pvt Ltd, Sarveshwar Organic Foods Ltd., Grauer & Weil (I) Ltd, SDS Ramcides Crop Science Pvt Ltd, Vision India Staffing Pvt Ltd among others.
During the inaugural ceremony, Prof D Mukhopadhyay, Dean FOM emphasized the importance of Human Resources in building competitive advantage for business and the contemporary issues and challenges facing HR managers. The Director, School of Business, Dr Ashutosh Vashishtha also stressed on the fact that ‘human resource’ of an organization is the key differentiator amongst all other resources. Dr Arti Devi, program in-charge, briefed the participants about the program.
Spread through two days, the program shall witness sessions from eminent resource persons. Brigadier K S Chauhan, GM HR and Administration will discuss ‘Human Resource Management for Excellence in Business: Issues and Challenges’. Prof Meenu Paul, Punjab University Chandigarh, will deliberate on ‘Legal Framework for Human Resource Management’ and ‘Statutory Compliance Needs in HRM’.  Swarnalatha Jagarlapudi, Associate Professor, Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad, will be discussing ‘HR Audit: Designing and Implementation Issues’. Dr Arti Devi, Assistant Professor, SMVDU will talk about ‘Management of Industrial Relations’.
