JAMMU, Feb 7: Suman Gupta, Nationally and Internationally known senior artist belonging to J&K State, shall be showcasing his new series of works in a major group show in Dubai, UAE this month.
The show titled “A Spring Sojourn II” being organized by Gallery Verandah shall commence from February 19, 2015. The show is being organized with some senior artists from India showing their important works to the larger art connoisseurs in UAE.
Suman Gupta shall be exhibiting few works from his new series based on the subjects taken from nocturnal migration of nomads from the planes to the high land regions with their colorful attire and flocks and glimpses of their pastoral existence painted with very profound brush.
All the central characters and other elements in his magic realistic paintings are clearly based on his own people and the land, thus making him a true chronicler as well as ambassador of the strong sacred base that informs everyday day life of the hill and highland Dogra communities of Jammu Shivaliks.
