JAMMU, Feb 8: Highlighting the long pending demands of employees of the State Govt and pensioners, president of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri, today urged the State Governor N N Vohra to release two installments of 17 percent DA, which are due from January and July last year in favour of the employees and pensioners of the State Government at the earliest.
Talking to media persons here today, Shastri pointed out that in view of increasing prices and inflation, the release of pending installments of 17 percent DA has become more necessary. The budgetary provision for this purpose was already made in the year 2014-15 budget, so there should be no hitch for the State Government in releasing it, he added.
The NMC president also expressed his grave concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay and pension, which forms part of the recommendations of the 4th Pay Commission implemented since January 1, 1986.
Pleading the cause of working class, particularly the daily wagers, Shastri called for their immediate regularization as they have high hopes from N N Vohra the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir State and hoped that the State Government would take positive decision in this regard without any further delay.
Other demands highlighted by the Shastri, included; removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre in SRO 93, pension benefits to the employees of PSUs, regularizing the services motivators working in watershed project at Akhnoor; release of wages of daily wagers of Social Forestry Project, PWD, PDD, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers of RDD and enhancement of wages of daily wagers and medical allowance.
