SAMBA, Feb 9: An anti-drug rally was organized by J&K Police in district Samba under the Civic Action Programme here today.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu Samba Kathua Range  flagged of the rally  from Kehli Mandi ground .
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Beig said that this rally has been organized by the Police with a view to generate awareness among the young generation and keep them away from drug addiction so that they remain physically and mentally fit.
He said that all efforts will be made to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society. He further said that drug de-addiction centre has been established by the Police at Gulshan Ground for the treatment and counselling of drug addicts.  He further said that the special drive against drugs/narcotics has been launched in Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range to stamp out the menace of drug trafficking. During the drive against drug trafficking various awareness programmes shall be organized at different places, he added.
Joginder Singh, SSP Samba, Ravi Kant, SP Traffic Rural Jammu,  Faizal Qureshi, Addl. SP Samba, Suresh Kumar, SP DAR, Vijaypaul Singh, DySP Hqrs, Mangal Dev, Chief Education Officer Samba, and Narinder Singh, Principal Boys Higher Secondary School Samba were present on the occasion.
