Suzuki Gixxer wins ‘Bike of the Year, ‘Executive Bike of the Year’ titles

NEW DELHI, Feb 10: Suzuki Gixxer has won ‘Bike of the Year and ‘Executive Bike of the Year’ titles at Economic Times–Zigwheels Car and Bike Awards.
In its seventh year, the ET ZigWheels Awards celebrate excellence in the Indian automotive industry and recognize everything from entry-level cars and two-wheelers to luxury sports cars and bikes to the manufacturers who make these machines. As always, vehicles launched between December 1, 2013 and November 30, 2014 qualified for the awards.
The jury comprised of the edit team as well as some guest judges, and was subdivided into three categories–The Enthusiast and Engineer, The Racer and The Edit Team.
Stalwarts Tutu Dhawan, Raj Kapoor and Joshua Crasto came under the Enthusiast and Engineer category while K Rajini was classified as the Racer. The Edit Team jury members consisted of Vikrant Singh, Editor, Sarmad Kadiri, Associate Editor, Preetam Bora, Assistant Editor and Cyrus Dhabhar, Principal Correspondent.
The Gixxer is drawn from the lineage of Suzuki’s globally successful GSX-R 1000 series. The motorcycle was introduced to the Indian market in September last year. The ‘Street Sport’ Gixxer is equipped with Suzuki’s breakthrough SEP technology to deliver a perfect balance of power and fuel efficiency.
