JAMMU, Feb 10: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu today reviewed the arrangements being made for the celebration of Maha Shivratri festival at Shiv Khori Reasi from February 16 to 18.
DIG Traffic, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Director Tourism Jammu, Superintendent of Police, Reasi besides other senior officers of administration participated in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues which included security, traffic, law and order, un-interrupted power and water supply, medicare, sanitation and others.
The Divisional Commiss-ioner asked the officers to ensure that all arrangements are put in place well before time so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.
Arrangements for celebrating Maha Shivratri festival at Peer Kho by the Tourism Department from February 15 to 17 were also discussed in detail. This is for the first time that Shivratri festival is being celebrated at Peer Kho. Elaborate arrangements for ethnic food stalls, joy rides and cultural programmes have been made during the festival days.
Divisional Commissioner gave instructions to the officers to give wide publicity to the event regarding celebration of Maha Shivratri festival at Shiv Khori and Peer Kho so that people come in large numbers to enjoy the occasion.
