UDHAMPUR, Feb 10: A collision between tractor and truck led to death of a pedestrian and serious injuries to two persons, here today.
The collision took place on Udhampur By Pass road near Shanker Bridge area of Bharat Nagar. After the collision, tractor turned turtle on the road and fell on a pedestrian, who died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Komal Bhandari Nath, son of Bhandari Nath of Jalgaon, Maharashtra.
One of the injured was driving the tractor and other was sitting beside him. Identified as Pritam Lal, son of Nasibu and Ajay Kumar, son of Gopal Dass of Jandrah, the duo was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
Meanwhile, a young housewife died after she came in contact with a live wire of 11 KV near her house at Dhiran in Ramnagar.
The deceased, identified as Ishri Devi (40), wife of Rattan Chand, was offering fodder to the cattle when she came in contact with the live wire. She reportedly died on the spot.
