Sometime back, I had requested the State Government to provide subsidy to the entertainment industry to promote Dogri Culture and Language in J&K. But after 3 years of appealing and repeated reminders to former CM Omar Abdullah, repeated publication to newspapers I was told that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir can not provide any type of financial subsidy to the Dogri films.. It very sad to say that the Government has rejected our request/appeal to provide subsidy to films like other states of India for the cultural promotion.
We all those involved with entertainment industry put lot of efforts and years to make cinema and promote Dogri Culture and Language. But the Govt of J&K has no interest to do so or at least encourage people who are doing it or provide any kind of help. There is no point investing times, money and efforts in this medium because our Govt is not with us for promotion of our culture.
