UDHAMPUR, Feb 15: A young man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Ritti here, late last night.
The deceased was identified as 34-year-old Charan Singh, son of Chater Singh of Ritti in Udhampur district. He was found lying unconscious by the family members, who shifted him to District Hospital Udhampur. However, despite hectic efforts by the doctors, he did not respond to the treatment and died after some time.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for investigations.
