Ganai discusses “Make in India” with stakeholders

SRINAGAR, Feb 15: In order to provide a conducive environment for industrial and entrepreneurial growth, the Financial Commissioner Industries and Commerce Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today exhorted on adopting a single window clearance system to streamline the process and make it less cumbersome.
He was speaking at a workshop organised at SKICC by the Department of Industries and Commerce Kashmir to deliberate upon the issues related to implementation of “Make in India” campaign with various stakeholders.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Ganai said that coordinated efforts are needed to give a boost to the industrial units and directed the concerned officers to ensure that the proceedures are streamlined to ensure time bound project clearances. He stressed that the projects should not be delayed due to red tapism at any level.
While highlighting the “Make in India” campaign, Mr. Ganai said that it aims to facilitate investment in manufacturing sector leading to job creation and enforcement to secondary and tertiary sector. He asked the concerned officers to adopt a proactive approach to implement the campaign in an effective manner so that the objectives of fostering innovation and skill enhancement are achieved.
He took a detailed review of the functioning of the District Industries Centers and asked the officers to facilitate the entrepreneurs for nurturing industrial growth and development. He assured them that their problems will considered and all efforts would be made to provide better work environment.
Director Industries & Commerce Kashmir, Director Handicrafts, General Managers of Industries Department, representatives of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and industrialists attended the workshop.
