BJP leader submits memorandum to PM on KPs rehabilitation

JAMMU, Feb 17: BJP Mahila Morcha All India Working Committee member, Sheela Handoo has demanded settlement of displaced Kashmiri Pandits at a Centrally located place in Valley with a district status.
In a memorandum submitted to Prime Minster Narendra Modi, Mrs Handoo demanded that Government should create all infrastructural facilities at this Centrally located place by creating economic avenues, educational facilities, commercial establishments and industrial park for the dignified living of the displaced people.
The memorandum said that by rehabilitating at a consolidated place a sense of security be also created among the community and full security arrangements be made for retention of the community.
The memorandum further stressed on political empowerment of the community, implementation of UN declaration on rights of minorities to which India is a signatory, protection of temples and shrines of Pandits in Valley with passage of Temples Bill, enhancement of cash relief, payment of compensation to displaced farmers and orchardists and implementation of PM’s employment package.
It also highlighted the plight of the displaced people who have been deprived of Government jobs by successive State Governments.
