JAMMU, Feb 17: Patnitop police arrested a trucker along with 1.20 quintals of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Patnitop police post intercepted a Jammu bound tralla bearing registration number HR38R-1345.
During checking, police recovered 1.20 quintals of poppy straw concealed in 12 bags and kept on the roof of the vehicle under the plastic sheets.
The driver of the vehicle identified as Bishan Dass, son of Mulkh Raj, a resident of district Kathua has been arrested.
A case under FIR number 15/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Patnitop police post SI Muhammad Irfan made the arrest under the direct supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
