ICCR to hold international exhibition of cartoons

JAMMU, Feb 17: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is organizing international exhibition of cartoons in Jammu in the last week of February, 2015.
This was informed here today by the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu, Balwant Thakur in a press briefing which was held at ICCR headquarters in Jammu.
Elaborating further, Balwant Thakur said that over 100 cartoons will feature in this exhibition which is being created exclusively for this show to pay homage to legendary cartoonist RK Laxman.
Prominent cartoonist and designer Chander Shekhar is curating and coordinating this international exhibition, which is being held at Kala Kendra, Jammu.
Top cartoonists of world fame from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, and Japan will feature in this exhibition in addition to the cartoonists of the State of J&K including Manoj Chopra, Raj Bhagat, Bashir Ahmed Bashir, Shah Tariq and Chander Shekhar.
Thakur further informed that J&K Academy of Art Culture and languages has been requested to partner this novice artistic happening in the State.
