4-days Shivratri Mela concludes at Peer Khoh

JAMMU  : The four days Shivratri festival organized by Directorate of Tourism, Jammu at Jamvant Gufa, Peer Khoh, Jammu concluded here today.

The Valedictory function started with lightening of the traditional lamp by MLA, Jammu East Rajesh Gupta in presence of Mahant Ravi Nath Peer, Joint Director Tourism Dr. Narupa Rai, Deputy Director Tourism Jammu Vinakshi Koul, and other senior officers of tourism department.

The festival which was earlier started for three days was extended for one day on the demand of people.

The attractions of the festival were various food stalls, fun rides, camel rides and cultural programmes based on Shiv Parvati theme like tandav, shiv barat, shiv-kali and songs/ bhajans devoted to Lord Shiva.

A Bhajan Sandhya based on religious theme was organized by the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu through the artists of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu during valedictory function.

MLA( elect)  Jammu East lauded the role of tourism department in organizing the shivratri festival and said that such events will promote religious tourism besides boosting the economy of the area.

Various social organizations and the Travel and Trade fraternity actively participated for the successful organization of the event.
