Kishtwar segment to have 3 legislators

JAMMU, Feb 18: In what could be a record of its sorts, the sensitive Kishtwar Assembly constituency will have three legislators-one each from BJP, PDP and NC.
BJP’s Sunil Sharma was elected to the Legislative Assembly for the first time in last year’s elections defeating NC’s two times MLA and former Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo. PDP’s Firdous Tak, a journalist, had finished third.
However, despite losing the elections, both Kitchloo and Tak were set to become the legislators by making it to the Legislative Council.
While Tak was today elected to the Council unopposed, the victory of Kitchloo to the Upper House is a foregone conclusion in view of the numbers of NC-Congress in the Assembly.
