JAMMU, Feb 20: Syeed Baqir Razvi MLA Zanskar and Punchok Tashi Nominated Councilor and former Executive Councilor in LAHDC Kargil today called on Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo, MD JKPDC inorder to discuss about various issues pertaining to Hydro Power Project of Zanskar Constituency.
Syeed Baqir Razvi requested Managing Director JKPDC to takeup remodeling and upgradation of Haftal MHP from 1 MW to 2 MW besides providing funds under state sector for immediate repair of canal and power house before it collapse. The Power Project were constructed way back in 1987 has suffered damages in various civil component and needs immediate repairment and maintenance for its proper functioning.
The delegation also requested for prioritization of hydro power in Zanskar constituency by taking up long pending proposal of Tamasha Hydel Project, Suru Hydel Project and Pishu-Zangla Hydro Project under state sector.
MD PDC assured that besides visiting himself on opening of road to Zanskar he will definitely take up upgradation of Haftal MHP under state sector in coming working season which is the only hydel project functioning in the region. He also assured that for other project he will take up the matter with University of Roorkey to provide DPR and other necessary inputs .
