JAMMU, Feb 20: State Institute of Education (SIE) Jammu in collaboration with Directorate of School Education today organized a two-day Annual Divisional Book Fair at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHS) Shastri Nagar here.
The fair was inaugurated by Commissioner/Secretary School Education Department, Shaleen Kabra.
Director School Education Jammu Simrandeep Singh was also present on the occasion.
Commissioner/Secretary visited stalls setup by publishers and booksellers in the exhibition and exhorted the teaching community to inculcate the habit of book reading among the students.
A total number of 34 stalls were installed in the fair comprising 21 from Jammu division, 8 from Kashmir division and five from outside the State, exhibiting both general and subject specific books.
Joint Director (Trainings), H.R. Pukhroo, Personnel Officer Schools Education Department Jammu, Prem Singh Chib, Chief Education Officer Jammu, J.K. Sudan, Principal DIET, Mohinder Singh, Principal GGHSS Shastri Nagar, Farida Javed besides faculty members and students in large numbers were also present on the occasion.
