UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Yasha Mudgal  inaugurated two-day Employment Fair here today.
Interacting with the people, DDC said that though the Government would explore all possibilities to create jobs in the public sector but the educated youth should also be encouraged to set up their income generating self-employment units to earn a livelihood with dignity and honour in turn contributing to the State’s economy.
She   stressed upon the unemployed educated youth to avail the benefits of such employment fairs by gathering knowledge about self-employment schemes started by the Government to create employment opportunities. She called upon the district officers of different departments to hold series of awareness campaigns in their respective jurisdiction to educate the youth about such welfare schemes.
She said that these fair would go a long way for socio economic upliftment not only of the unemployed youth but other people associated with them.
Earlier, the DDC took a round of the fair and inspected the stalls set up by various departments for disseminating information about welfare and other schemes launched by them.
A scintillating cultural programme was also presented by Ram Ditta and party.
Among others, ADDC Ajay Singh Jamwal, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, Deputy Director Employment, Sandesh Sharma and district officers of different departments were present on the occasion.
