JAMMU, Feb 21: The Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Jammu Development Authority (JDA) led by Kapil Sharma,  Joint Commissioner (Adm) and S. Gurvinderjeet Singh, Director Land Management along with Chief Enforcement Officers under the direct supervision of  Mubarak Singh, Vice Chairman, JDA and Er. Kiran Wattal, Municipal Commissioner jointly undertook a day long and massive anti encroachment drive from Sidhra to Malik Market Narwal, to remove the encroachments that came up within right of way / building line of the road.
During the drive the team demolished seven structures, ramps of service station, tin sheds, boundary walls, pacca tharas etc facing tough resistance from the encroachers and also seized five no’s of truck loads of material consisting of different kinds of goods / articles. The drive has been conducted with the help and co-operation of Police Force from the concerned Police Stations / Police Posts.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation has again appealed to the shopkeepers / vendors to refrain from making encroachments and keep their goods / articles within their shops / establishments to avoid seizure of these goods and penalty for such defaults as the encroachments are a source of obstructions which hamper the free movement of vehicular traffic leading to traffic jams and also causing inconvenience to the pedestrians.
