Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Feb 21: The General Line Teachers Forum (GLTF) expressed their contentment over the move taken by the Commissioner Secretary and Director Education in which the surplus teachers/masters have been placed on proper adjustments. This is the very right step taken by the Department and will benefit the both students and teaching fraternity .The President of the forum Neeraj Sharma expressed satisfaction that now the things have started moving in the right directions in the Education Department. He further said that the list of surplus masters published in the news papers is an eye opener that no particular person has been given a special favour and equality and justice is maintained .
He further demanded that the culture of deployments /attachments should be “done away with” once for all as such things have brought bad image to the Department, particularly the teaching community.
He also alleged that some forums and associations are trying to subvert the education set up for their vested interests. They are misleading not only Education Department  officials but the teaching community also as many as the names of the members of these forums figure in the list published  which shows that they prefer the way of deployment and attachment to transparent transfer policy .
Kiran Pandita the convener of the Forum said that these Forums always try to manipulate and manage their transfers and adjustment in the Urban areas  have less concern towards student community and leaving no room for the teachers who are serving in remote areas for long period .
He demanded that the Govt. should restart the Rationalization of schools which was abandoned in 2012 and it will siphon out the many surplus teachers / masters/ lecturers for the schools deficient of staff.
