JAMMU, Feb 21: While describing retaining of  Govt bungalows and accommodation by the undeserving politicians as an excessive burden on the public exchequer, National Democratic Party today urged the State Governor N N Vohra to get the accommodation vacated after proper screening.
In a meeting of the NDP held here today under the chairmanship of its president Ravi Bakshi, the executive committee members expressed serious concern over the massive financial crunch being faced by the State and suspension of many development projects. The members observed that many former Ministers, legislators and even undeserving politicians are enjoining the facilities of Cabinet Ministers and top bureaucrats. They are occupying Government bungalows and other buildings despite the fact that they have their own private houses in the city which they have rented out.
The members also pointed out that many undeserving politicians and even petty political workers whether from NC, Congress, BJP, NPP or PDP have been allotted several number of security men who are even doing their domestic works. This practice should also be stopped forth with. They termed this as an extra burden on the public exchequer and appealed the Governor, being custodian of the public property to protect it from the people who are hell bent to misuse and plunder it.
Prominent among those attending meeting included Rakesh Khajuria (adv), SC Sharma, AK Atri (adv), Rajesh Gupta, Vijay Anand, Ravinder Singh, Pawan Jasrotia and Ajay Singh.
