SRINAGAR, Feb 22: A seven day workshop on Research Methodology (Interdisciplinary) organized by the Directorate of Distance Education University of Kashmir concluded here today.
The workshop was attended by 35 participants from different colleges and universities and focused on the process of formulating the research question and developing the effective research design.
The workshop covered many important topic related to research; such as Productive and Critical Thinking Skills, Scientific -Method and Experimentation Skills, Communication Skills-Written and Oral, Management of research-time management, Problem Selection, Hypotheses Testing, Sampling Techniques, Data Collection, Research Design, Research Paradigms, Fallacies of Research, Plagiarism, Professional Ethics etc.
On the concluding day of the workshop Registrar, KU Prof Zaffar A Reishi who was chief guest on the occasion addressed the participants about the importance of research in teaching career and appreciated the institute in organizing the event.
Prof Neelofar Khan Director of Distance Education, highlighted the importance of the workshop for the teachers, research scholars and academic community.
Dr. Nahid Ruhee (Convener) highlighted the importance of research in the field of Open and Distance Learning.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Dar said that Research Methodology is often a challenging subject for both faculty and students and its is even more difficult to find a comprehensive publication that is sufficient in scope and coverage of the important issues in research
Faculty member Showkat Rashid Wani presented the detailed report of the workshop while as Dr. Tariq Ahmad Chisti presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
