FM urged to announce merger of 50% DA into pay/pension

JAMMU, Feb 22: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today expressed grave concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay and pension and urged upon the Union Finance Minister (FM) to make announcement in this regard in the ensuing budget session of Parliament starting tomorrow.
Talking to media persons here, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, said the Government is duty bound to merger of DA into basic pay or pension on agreed principles.
Expressing deep concern over inordinate delay in regularization of 180 daily rated workers falling under SRO 64 working in the Rural Development Department before March 1994 in Jammu region, Shastri also urged the Governor to personally intervene in to matter and issue necessary instructions to the concerned authorities for ordering their immediate regularization.
Pleading the cause of employees of the State Government and pensioners, Shastri also urged Vohra to release the pending two installments of 17 percent DA due from January and July last year in favour of employees and pensioners of the State Government.
