No fresh H1N1 case, 28 more samples sent for testing

JAMMU, Feb 23: A total of 28 samples of suspected swine flu patients were today sent to New Delhi for confirmation from here while no fresh positive case or resultant death was registered today.
According to Director Health, Jammu, Dr BS Pathania, 28 more samples of suspected swine flu patients from Jammu region were sent for testing to New Delhi by the department, adding no fresh positive swine flu case has been registered in Jammu in last 48 hours, as the department did not receive any report from New Delhi for last two days. However, we are expecting to receive some reports late night today, he added.
He disclosed that since the sample collection centre was opened at Chopra Nursing Home, a total of 65 samples have been sent to New Delhi for testing out of which they received 16 reports while 49 are still awaited.
“Till now, six patients have been tested positive for H1N1 in Jammu region including an SP of J&K police who succumbed to the dreaded disease on February 19 at ASCOMS Hospital while 12 highly suspected swine flu patients are being treated at Isolation Ward of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu”, he said, adding none of the admitted patients (suspected swine flu patients) are on ventilator.
Dr Pathania further revealed that a separate flu OPD was started today at Government Hospital Sarwal while the same OPDs are already being hold at GMCH and Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar.
