JAMMU, Feb 23: Director School Education Simrandeep Singh today set-aside the appointment of two ReTs ordered by his predecessor and directed the Chief Education Officer Rajouri to cancel the appointment if any issued in favour of the appointees.
Official sources said that Chief Education Officer, Rajouri in the month of June 2014 invited applications for two posts of ReTs for NPS Khanaga Mohalla (Rajpur Kamila) and the panel prepared by the Zonal Education Officer Nowshera was forwarded to the then Director School Education through CEO recommending the names of Mehnaz Akhter and Mohd Akram for the posts of ReTs.
During the course of inviting objections, one Harjit Singh, a resident of Nowshera opposed the panel on various grounds and simultaneously approached the High Court, which on September 9, 2014 stayed the selection process.
However, the process of selection was completed by giving approval to the appointment of Mehnaz Akhter and Mohd Akram. Harjit Singh appeared before new Director School Education, Simrandeep Singh and demanded an enquiry into the order dated January 28, 2015 on the ground that it amounted to the contempt of the court.
Finding malafide in the issuance of order for which a separate Preliminary Enquiry is being conducted, Director has set aside the order dated January 28, 2015 with the direction to the Chief Education Officer Rajouri to cancel the appointment if any issued in favour of the appointees.
