Debate on air pollution held

UDHAMPUR, Feb 23: Akshay Singh  a student of  7th    standard was adjudged best speaker in the Debate on “Air Pollution: A Major Threat to Mankind” organized by the Department of Information Udhampur held in the premises of Government City High School(Boys) Udhampur here today.
Second and third positions were clinched by  Anuj Abrol of class 6th  and    Aditya Singh of class 7th  respectively. Two consolation prizes were also given to  Satish of class 8th  and Kulbir of 7th  class.  The participants were awarded prizes and certificates of merit.
As many as 08 students of the host institution participated in the debate contest and expressed their views on the topic.
Headmistress,  Sunder Rani  who was the chief guest on the occasion lauded the efforts of Information Department in organizing the event of great importance in her school. She said that the contest has enabled the students to expose their talent on a common platform which would help in building self-confidence amongst them. She urged for more such programmes in educational institutions for the general awareness of youngsters.
Karuna,  Archna Sharma and Meenakshi Gupta were acted as judge in the programme. While Naveen Sharma  conducted proceedings of the programme.
