JAMMU, Feb 23:  PDP president Mehbooba Mufti will meet BJP president Amit Shah in New Delhi tomorrow to discuss some contentious issues, which were yet to be resolved, before formation of first ever PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mehbooba, who is in New Delhi to attend budget session of Parliament, will meet Amit Shah tomorrow and have discussions on the issues like talks with Pakistan and dialogue with separatists and how to proceed on them.
According to sources, the PDP and BJP have sorted out the issues like withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Article 370 of the Constitution of India granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Mehbooba would now discuss with Shah the issues of Central Government holding talks with separatists and Pakistan.
Sources said no major announcement was expected after Mehbooba-Shah talks tomorrow in New Delhi but the meeting would definitely be a major step forward towards formation of new Government in Jammu and Kashmir, which was under Governor’s rule since January 8 after December 23 results threw up a hung Assembly in the State with PDP emerging as single largest party with 28 seats followed by BJP with 25.
According to sources, once all issues are sorted out between the PDP and BJP, PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who is tipped to be next Chief Minister of the State, will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to formally announce formation of PDP-BJP Government in the State.
