RAMBAN, Feb 24: Two attempts of bovines smuggling have been foiled by police in Banihal and Chanderkot areas.
A police spokesman said that, during routine checking at Railway Station Crossing, Banihal, police team from Banihal police station led by SHO Inspector Tariq Hussain Naik under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AJ-4341 for routine checking.
During checking, 11 bovine animals were rescued and driver of the vehicle identified as Tarseem Lal, son of Suram Chand of Jourian, Jammu was arrested on the spot.
Accordingly a case under FIR number 15/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Banihal and investigation started.
Meanwhile, during routine checking at Kunfer Nallah near Chanderkot, police team from Chanderkote police station led by SHO Inspector Rajinder Sharma under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02BE-4542. During checking, 5 bovine animals were rescued and driver of the vehicle identified as Shabir Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed of Khanpur Nagrota, Jammu was arrested.
A case under FIR number 15/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Chanderkot and investigation started.
