MLA Bhaderwah discusses problems of SPOs, VDCs with DGP

JAMMU, Feb 25: MLA Bhaderwah, Dalip Singh Parihar, today called on Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today and discussed various issues related to welfare of SPOs and VDC members.
During the meeting, MLA requested the DGP to strengthen the Village Defence Committees by engaging SPO on the posts fallen vacant in the constituency. He also requested that the SPOs who have left job due to some family compulsions should be considered for their re-engagement. SPOs should be posted in their nearest areas so that they could perform effectively, besides managing livelihood of their families with the meagre honorarium, they are paid.
Mr. Rajendra heard the MLA and assured that the problems of SPO and VDC members would be looked into patiently. He said that SPOs have performed an important role in bringing peace and stability in the State and the JKP Organization is aware of their genuine hardships. Various issues have been sorted out and the remaining taken up with the concerned quarters for their early settlement.
