NEW DELHI, Feb 26: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today said that he has set four goals to make railways better and envisages to attract an investment of Rs 8.5 lakh crore in the next five years to achieve his target.
Presenting his maiden railway budget in the Lok Sabha, Mr Prabhu said he has identified four areas for sustainable improvement of world’s fourth largest railway network. “My goal is to deliver a sustained and improved experience to customers, control costs and modernise infrastructure,” Mr Prabhu said.
On attracting finances on the investment hungry sector, he said, “We will have to tap other sources of finances too.” (AGENCIES)
