JAMMU, Feb 26: Expressing anguish over not providing a building for accommodating Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), Jammu for the last 4 years, Shri Ram Sena (SRS) has appealed Governor NN Vohra to intervene personally into the matter.
In a statement issued here today, SRS State president, Rajiv Mahajan urged the Governor that accommodation for IMFA be provided at an earliest in the larger interest of students and the staff of the institute, who have been on the run from one place to another for the last 4 years since their Institute building, Poonch House at Talab Tillo, Jammu developed cracks.
“Since then, the Institute has been functioning in different private buildings causing much discomfort to the students and staff of the institute”, he added and blamed the previous Government for its failure to provide accommodation to IMFA Jammu.
Mahajan further said that the then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Gh Nabi Azad had sanctioned Rs one crore for introducing Mass Communication Course in Jammu University but till date there is no information about the said sanctioned amount and utilization thereof.
Mahajan appealed the Governor to look into the matter seriously and issue orders for providing a building to accommodate the IMFA.
