JAMMU, Feb 27: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu today convened a high level meeting to discuss issues related to expansion of Jammu Airport.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Assistant Commissioner Central Sachin Dev Singh, CF East Jammu B. M. Sharma, AGM (FC) Rajeev Goel, Airport Director Ramesh Kumar, Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control H.C. Jerath, Chief Engineer S&O PDD Ajay Gupta, SE Hydraulic Circle Jammu Rajeev Malhotra besides senior officers from Army, R&B, PWD and other concerned departments.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed that the various agencies involved in the project should synchronise their working so that bottlenecks can be removed for timely completion of the prestigious project.
During the meeting, the bottlenecks related to shifting of various Army utilities adjoining the airport were deliberated upon.
Shantmanu said that work on this ambitious project needs to be expedited and for this land acquisition and rehabilitation cases need to be accelerated.
Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu held a video conference with Deputy Commissioners of Poonch, Rajouri, Samba and Kathua to discuss vital issues related to constructions of community type bunkers for the people residing near LoC/International Border.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the tentative cost and design of community bunkers. Divisional Commissioner stressed to expedite the process so that the construction of the community bunkers is started soon.
