SOPORE, Feb 28: A medical-cum-veterinary camp was organised by Army under ‘Operation Sadhbhavana’ at Gurseer in Sopore area on Saturday.
A Joint team of doctors from Army and Civil administration including lady doctors, nursing assistant and para-medics participated in providing medical assistance to 572 people including men, women and children.
“Besides, 551 livestock were also treated at the camp,” an official said.
He said a veterinary team each of Army and Civil administration were present to treat the livestock.
“The Army has been regularly organising medical camps in the strife torn areas of Baramulla district. Handouts on various career prospects were distributed and a lecture on ‘Swine flu’ was also conducted,” he said, adding, various other stalls, including one by Punjab National Bank, SBI Life, Srinagar & Gas Agency, Delina was also on display for the betterment of the locals.
Meanwhile, the general populace in these areas is greatly benefited by these camps as there is a lack of medical facilities in these areas.
