Prepare plan for rehabilitation of surrendered, released militants:CM to Police Chief

JAMMU:
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today directed State Police Chief K Rajindera to prepare a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of surrendered and released militants.
“Prepare a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of surrendered and released militants so that they are integrated into the mainstream of the society of the State,” Mr Sayeed told Mr Rajindera in a review meeting here.
The Chief Minister is also holding the charge of Home Department. “These youth should be given a chance to settle down and lead a normal life as other citizens of the State and contribute to the society,” said Mr Sayeed.
The Chief Minister also instructed the Police to initiate a process of releasing all those political prisoners in the State against whom no criminal charges are registered.
Meanwhile, stressing on the need of proper human resource utilization, the Chief Minister urged the DGP to undertake a human resource mapping of the organisation by assigning right jobs for the right people, purely on performance basis.
He also underscored the need for constant training for jawans and officers to hone their professional skills. Mr Sayeed further instructed setting up of a helpline and distress call centres at various places outside the State for the people who are in need of help.
“This would go a long way in giving people of the State, particularly students, a sense of confidence while they are studying or travelling,” he maintained. (AGENCIES)
