Haq for accountability, transparency in RDD

JAMMU, Mar 4: Minister for Rural Development (RD), Abdul Haq Khan, chaired a meeting convened to review the functioning of the department in his office chamber here today.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Rural Development, Mission Director UMEED, Chief Executive Officer IWMP, Directors of Rural Development Kashmir and Jammu, Deputy Commissioner Central, Member Secretary MGNREGS, Director Finance and other officers of the line department.
The Minister was apprised by Secretary Rural Development regarding the implementation, present status of various Central as well as State sponsored schemes in the State.
The Minister while reviewing the status of schemes, stressed for ensuring transparent mechanism in the implementation of the programmes and also to make all the officers/officials accountable. He cautioned that any sort of malpractices which impinge the reputation of the department will not be tolerated at any cost.
Mr. Haq laid emphasis on having a proper system in place for identification of genuine beneficiaries under IAY, besides creation of durable assets under convergence in MGNREGA. He said the officers with integrity and uprightness will be encouraged within the system.
