Truck driver escapes unhurt in militant’s firing in Shopian

SRINAGAR:
A truck driver today had a miraculous escape as a militant opened firing at him from a close range in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
The militant fired three rounds from a pistol at Arshad Ahmad Dar at Wandina in Zainapora area of the district while he was extracting sand from a stream there, they said.
“While extracting sand, Dar noticed a militant taking out a pistol and he started running away. The ultra fired at least three rounds at Dar but missed,” a police official said.
Dar reported the matter to the local police station, the official said, adding that a probe has been started into the incident. (AGENCIES)
