Jammu, Mar 6: A two day Multi-lingual Kahani Ghosthi was today inaugurated by the MLA Chhamb, Dr. Krishan Lal in the K.L Saigal Hall.
In today’s programme, seven short-stories in different languages- Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Pahari, Urdu and Gojri were read out by prominent short-story writers Khalid Hussain, Yogita Yadgav (Hindi), S.S Anand Lehar (Urdu) Satish Vimal (Kashmiri), Iqbal Nazish(Pahari), Dr. Mirza Sajad(Gojri) and Nirmal Vikram (Dogri).
N.D Jamwal presided whereas Dr. Lalit Magotra, a prominent short-story writer was guest of honour. Besides, Haroon Rashid, Secretary of the Academy was also on the dias.
N. D Jamwal while delivering his presidential address spoke in details about the short stories which were read in today’s programme. He said that the short stories read out were of immense importance and the litterateur gathered might have enjoyed a lot because there comes hardly a chance when we got an opportunity to hear short stories in many languages
Dr. Krishan Lal shared his experiences of life with the gathering.
Dr. Lalit Magotra, also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the role of the Academy in organizing such a literary activity.
Earlier, delivering his welcome address, Haroon Rashid highlighted the importance of this programme and said that this activity will also provide a chance to the litterateurs of different languages to interact with each other.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Azra Choudhary,I/c Chief Editor Dictionary and vote of thanks was presented by Chief Editor, Pahari Dr. Anwar Mirza.
Among others who present there were S.S Anand Lehar, Neeru Sharma, Dr. Lalit Gupta, Shiv Dev Singh Sushil, Mushtaq Kak, Prof. P.N Trisal, Krishna Prem, Sarpanch Nikku Ram Ji, Ravi Kimar, Rajesh Vidyarthi, Rahat Kazmi, Rahat Hussain, Balwant Thakur, Director ICCR. Tomorrow seven more short stories will be read out in K.L Saigal Hall.
