LUCKNOW : Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, who was advised rest by doctors and even skipped the Holi festival,was rushed to the Medanta super speciality hospital in Gurgaon late last night after his health deteriorated. Yadav was airlifted to Gurgaon by the state aircraft after midnight and was admitted to Medenta at around 0200 hours. According to party sources here,the SP president was admitted to the ICU and is under ventilator after he complained of breathing problem.
Senior doctors of the hospital including Dr Naresh Trehan along with others are keeping a close watch of the leader’s health.
Family members of Yadav have also rushed to Gurgaon, sources said.
The decision to shift Yadav to Medenta was taken by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav after he returned from Saifai last evening.
Earlier the SP president was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) here for a brief period for two day this week.
The leader skipped the Holi festival and even did not visit his native village Saifai on the festival. Sources here today Yadav has been unwell for the past few days and had taken ill on Wednesday after which he was briefly admitted at the SGPGI during which time some tests were conducted on him.
Doctors attending the leader here at the SGPGIMS said he was suffering from urinary infection. Other than routine pathological tests, the ageing SP leader was also tested for swine flu. Yadav was discharged late in the night of Wednesday but had to be rushed to the medical facility once again on Thursday. Family here remained tight-lipped about the condition of the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and refused to comment on his health status.
They claimed that his hectic busy schedule during the marriage ceremony of grand nephew Taj Pratap Singh and later the budget session of the Parliament had turned him ‘exhausted and tired’. (AGENCIES)
