JAMMU, Mar 7: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu, R S Jain today acquitted Roshan Lal of Chhattisgarh, who was facing trial in murder case, as prosecution failed to prove the case.
After hearing Advocate Rohan Nanda appearing for the accused, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “circumstances reflected from the material on record do not stand conclusively established. The facts are also not consistent with the hypothesis of the guilt of the accused”.
“The material brought on record by the prosecution is insufficient to hold that the accused is guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Further, each circumstance has not been proved beyond reasonable doubt. The prosecution has also not established a conclusive link connecting each individual circumstance with the other, and the accused”, the court said.
With these observations, the court acquitted the accused of the charges framed against him.
