JAMMU, Mar 7: Continuing vigorously its anti encroachment drive, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today demolished two temporary structures (Khokhas) erected illegally on Municipal Land here near Canal Head.
The drive was carried out by enforcement staff of JMC led by the Chief Enforcement Officer under the guidance of Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu.
During the drive, the team demolished two Khokhas erected by Manga Ram and Gura Ditta on encroached Municipal Land near Tanga Stand, Canal Head. The team also cleared footpaths and pavements and lifted 15 reharies from the areas of City Chowk, Indira Chowk, Canal Head and Akhnoor Road, Jammu which were kept stationary hampering the free movement of vehicular Traffic and also causing hindrance and obstruction to the pedestrians.
The drive was conducted with the help of police led by In-charge Police Post Canal Head, Jammu and also Police Force from District Police Lines, Jammu.
Besides this, the team also inspected the shops and various other out-lets in the areas of Digiana, Shastri Nagar, etc and seized about 10 kg of Polythene Carry Bags and charged Rs 5400 from 13 defaulters.
