SRINAGAR, Mar 7: In view of prolonged disruption of schooling because of unprecedented floods and heavy rainfall in September last, the School Education Department has waived off Term two (T2) exams of class Ist to IX and also of class XI in all the Government as well as Private schools in Kashmir division and Winter zones of Jammu division.
The students of these classes shall now be promoted to the next higher class with immediate effect, said a Government order, issued today by the School Education Department.
Meanwhile, in view of the prevailing inclement weather, the Department has also extended the winter vacations of all Government as well as private schools of Kashmir division and Winter zones of Jammu upto March 14, 2015 for the students upto 8th standard.
However, the high and higher secondary schools shall re-open on March 9 as per the previous schedule while the staff of Primary and Middle Schools shall also report for duty with effect from March 9 at their respective schools.
