JAMMU, Mar 7: A 35-year old man today committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence at RS Pura while a young girl at Sidhra also made an abortive attempt on her life by consuming poisonous substance.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Rashpal (35) son of Ramesh Lal, a resident of Grani in RS Pura consumed some poisonous substance at his residence this evening following which he was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he died during treatment.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of GMCH for post mortem.
Meanwhile, a young girl namely Asia (18) daughter of Saif-ud-Din and a resident of Doda (at present Sidhra) also tried to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance at her temporary residence. The family members shifted her to GMCH, where her condition was stated to be stable.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
