J-K BJP leaders ask central leadership to snap ties with PDP

JAMMU:
A BJP meeting on the issue of release of separatist leader Masarat Alam here today saw many leaders expressing strong views, with even demands that the party should snap the ties with PDP.
“Not one but all the BJP MLAs and ministers who were present in the meeting today conveyed this to the central leadership that BJP should discontinue its support of this coalition Government,” a BJP MLA, who was part of the meeting, said on the condition of anonymity.
He said the State BJP leadership has conveyed this to party’s central leadership that this “anti-India stand” of Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed will not be tolerated.
“Majority of the MLAs of BJP were of the opinion that BJP should come out of this coalition,” he said.
He said the party MLAs, MLCs and ministers who were part of the meeting asked the party State in charge Avinash Rai Khanna who had specially come to chair the meeting that the party cannot play with the security and integrity of the nation.
“We are not power hungry and we cannot play with the national security, national security is paramount to us and the release of…Masarat Alam is a threat to the national security, we have conveyed our decision to the central leadership of the party… We were of the opinion that the party must come out of it,” he said.
