HC vacates stay on written test for POs

JAMMU, Mar 9: High Court today vacated the stay on holding of examinations for the posts of Prosecuting Officers.
The stay was granted in the petition filed by Reyaz Ahmed Khan and others belonging to Kargil and Leh districts. They had challenged the notification for written examination on the ground that due to lack of road connectivity of Leh and Kargil with Srinagar and Jammu, it was impossible for them to face the written examination on the date fixed by the respondents.
After going through the submission of AAG, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir observed, “the respondents have resolved to conduct the examinations at three centres which included one at Leh so as to ensure participation of the candidates belonging to Kargil and Leh”.
With these observations, High Court disposed of the petition with the direction that date for examination shall be fixed so as to provide reasonable time to all aspirants to sit in examination.
